I’m Cass, a 40-something living outside of Philadelphia, PA, in Southern New Jersey with my husband, Steve, and our American Brittany, Utley. Cornfields, tomato fields, and sand surround us. We have a little red barn (see photo above) that reminds me of the apple farm I grew up on and I have an ambitious goal to resort the detail in our 200 year old farm house back to it’s original charter. . . one piece of trim at a time.
This blog has existed, not existed, with content and without content for over ten years (OG where the fly lands). It now serves as a platform to share a retrospective of chapters of life that have been overly joyous and highly complex. I’ll talk about welcoming a bird dog to our family in 2014, selling two homes in Pittsburgh in 2017, celebrating new jobs, navigating job loss, living in Detroit, not loving living in Detroit, settling into our forever home in New Jersey, pregnancy loss, IVF, living child-free after infertility, healthcare after infertility, and most importantly, living one hour from Cape May, NJ. Each chapter reads exceptionally different than what my crystal ball wrote, and I’m starting to learn that is, in fact, what being an adult is about.
